Michael Jordan had another outstanding performance as host Chicago defeated Atlanta, 97-90, to take the lead in the Eastern Conference. Jordan scored 47 points and shot 69% (18-for-26 from the field), while the rest of the team, still without Scottie Pippen combined for 50 points and 32% (19-for-59). The Hawks tried numerous defensive schemes, but Jordan sometimes made it look so easy that it as he played a different game to be in a separate room seemed. Atlanta was at his mercy.
