Michael Jordan 1987: Vs. Isiah the Detroit Pistons, 33pts
Although Jordan was here in his prime jumping, the Pistons grabbed the street with their big bodies to deny him from dunking in the game, while, forcing him to shoot 11-26, a fairly terrible FG% of his standards. With sticky defender Dumars decided, every shade of his movements, MJ uncorked his patented, reload-bridge hang time and again - which was as satisfying as any dunks. MJ led his young bulls on the goal line against the Pistons elite with his unique athleticism but the Pistons' bigPoints in the paint was too much in the end. Isiah Thomas' incredible clutch play and buckets helped even a little. The intensity of the game was to target only a foretaste of what's coming there in the coming years.
