Michael Jordan 1988 Playoffs: GMS 4 & 5 Vs. Cavaliers
After setting numerous records in this 5-game series (see games 1-3, which I have set up), MJ finally win his remarkable performance is limited by its first playoff series. With the most points ever scored in a 5-game series (45.2ppg) and the only time in the history of a player posted back-to-back 50pt games, the victory was the first step in the direction of the absolute rule of MJ, which went well with his individual brilliance. Game 4 here showed the incredible will of MJ. Playwith strained ribs in Cleveland before a hostile crowd MJ shot 72% (18-25) and made 15 of his last 16 shots and his last 9 consecutive shots to score 44th He hit everything. The Cavs, however, played a great team game and defeated Chicago - forcing the decisive fifth Game. In Game 5 MJ the game had come naturally. While still hot at 12-20, his shot selection and superb MJ hit from all angles and aggressive drives to ensure that would be the series was theirs. This was the beginning of thethe Bulls and the beginning of the end of the Cavaliers.
