On 21 January 1989, MJ treated us all to an amazing performance hit his first 9 shots on his way to scoring 53 points in the Chicago Stadium against a tough Phoenix Suns team. Jordan shot 20-28 from the field (71.4%) and 13-15 from the line (86.7%) along with 16 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Impossible right? Well not for Jordan - he did all season. In perhaps his best all-round season, and perhaps the best all-around season ever, averaging 32.5 points MJ 53.8%from the field and 85% from the line, along with 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 2.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per game over 81 games. He also led a young team the Bulls Eastern Conference Finals against the eventual champion Pistons. Amazingly, he did not even win MVP of the league, because this year led the Lakers win over Magic. It shows how big and competitive the league was back then. My favorite is moving at 4.44, when it explodes baseline for a slam. The rapidity of his first step on theOutput value is amazing, and he throws the ball in the basket as hard and fast and so high, it's incredible. Enjoy ...
